Ladies Aux President

Award Winning Auxiliary

The 90th State convention was held in June for both the VFW Members and the Auxiliaries. The auxiliaries are divided by membership size (5 Divisions). Our auxiliary is Division One and we won first place in three Community Service areas. The first of the three State awards was for the"Most Outstanding Program Participation Project". Second was for the Most Outstanding "Make a Difference Day" and the third award was for most outstanding "America Supports You Program"

On could say that that just having been in existence for only 9 months that would be a great year. But wait ...that was not all of our awards we also received a National Award for the National Military Services Award in recognition of our generous contributions to National Military Services 2009-2010. Each of the members of our auxiliary should be proud of the work they have done and I am sure with after completing a full year we will earn many more awards not only this year but also in the coming year but in years.

Blue Star Mothers Breakfast

On September 17, 2011 the members of the newly formed chapter Wilco Blue Star Mothers of America (mothers of active duty military) were treated to breakfast by the auxiliaries of the VFW for Posts 9078 of Round Rock and 8787 of Austin.

The menu included breakfast tacos, assorted pastries, fruit, and juice. Mimi's Cafe at the Mopac location in north Austin donated two dozen of their delicious muffins. After breakfast the members of the two organizations spent time getting to know each other and learn about the programs in which they are involved

A short remembrance program for our Prisoners of War and Missing in Action military servicemen culminated the morning.
